  4. Day4 The Valbona Valley awaits

Today, luckily, breakfast will be served. Also, some extra food will be on the table, so each of you can prepare you own lunch pack. Off we go to the village of Valbona, spot for many hiking trails. On the way we will climb near the Roshi peaks, and will start our descent towards the valley.
Traditional food will be our treat of the day 😉

  5. Day5 The Village of Theth

This day is one of the most remarkable ones. Not for the challenging trail, but because the pass through Valbona and Theth is a classic. Moreover, the Village of Theth is one of the best preserved villages. Usual morning routine, breakfast and lunch pack preparation. We will start an early morning hike, in order to have time in Thethi to explore the village, the Church and the Blood Feud Tower.
    Traditional dinner in the guesthouse.

  6. Day6 Towards Montenegro

Today we will face a challenging one. After an early breakfast, we will head towards the Peja pass. After the steep climb, we will continue a ”smoother” descent towards the town of Plav, in Montenegro. Back to modern days with a hotel that is waiting for us. We will be having a traditional dinner at the hotel.

  7. Day7 Back to Albania

Today we are heading back to the untouched lands of the Accursed Mountains. We will head towards the village of Vermosh. 8. Day8 Let's have some Albanian culture

Today we will travel towards one of the oldest cities in Albania, also considered as the cradle of the Albanian culture. But first, we have some hiking to do. Our luggage will be loaded in a local van, and we will walk from Vermosh to the Village of Lepush, where the van will be waiting to take us to Shkoder.
From now on, only hotels 😉

  9. Day9 Tell the difference

Today, will be a pretty relaxed day. We will travel towards the capital of Albania, Tirana. Far from the Accursed Mountains, not only geographically, Tirana has turned in a vibrant city, where old meets new. On the way, we will stop for lunch in the city of Kruja, where we can visit the old bazaar.
We will have dinner in a traditional restaurant in Tirana and after, free time to explore the city by night.

  10. Day10 Time to say goodbye

Today is your last day. Time permitting we might have a tour. To get to the airport, you will be provided with a local buss ticket which will take you to the airport. If departure very early morning or late evening, will have an extra charge.

Hotels and Guesthouses. Everything you need to know day-by-day

First day, we will sleep in a middle class hotel in the historic center of Prizren, Kosovo. Rooms will be shared, unless differently specified.

The second day, will be the hardest accommodation day. We will spend the night in a shepherd’s hut. The conditions are not ideal and during the night you might feel cold. We suggest you to bring sleeping bags. No shower option and toilets outside.

The third night is in Cerem. In this village, electricity is an issue, so prepare to have power cuts, or no power at all. Shared rooms with up to 6 people per room. Toilets and showers might be shared.

The fourth day we will be in Valbona. Lovely guesthouses and no power cuts. Comfortable night. Shared rooms with up to 6 people per room. Toilets and showers might be shared.

The fifth day is also a good day. Accommodation in Theth are same standards as in Valbona Valley, so, no problems here as well. Shared rooms with up to 6 people per room. Toilets and showers might be shared.

Sixth day we will get back to a middle class hotel in Plav, Montenegro. Shared twin rooms unless otherwise specified.

Seventh day we will go back to guesthouses. This time in Vermosh. The standards are more or less the same as in the village of Theth. Shared rooms with up to 6 people per room. Toilets and showers might be shared.

Eighth day we will be in Shkoder, so middle class hotel expected. Shared twin rooms unless otherwise specified.

Ninth day we will be in the capital. Again, middle class hotel expected. Shared twin rooms unless otherwise specified.

Tenth day. Well, today you got to sleep in your own bed 🙂

Hiking boots are a must. The trails do not allow hiking sandals.

This is a personal choice. If you are used to hike with poles, than it’s a good idea to bring them with you.

Considered the time of the year in which we do these kind of tours, the weather is perfect. However, in the mountains the weather might change instantly, so it’s always a good idea to bring along some water proof jacket.

We did this tour in late september 2016. Me and my friend were joined by a Danish couple in this amazing adventure. Our guide, Andi was very friendly and very knowledgeable about history culture and traditions. The food was simply incredible (told by an Italian) :). Everything tastes like it was supposed to. The guesthouses were very friendly. This was my second time in Albania after many years. I will see you soon guys. Tommy
