Join an amazing adventure, and start walking the Albania’s untamed paths. Travel through time in one of the in one of the most beautiful areas in Europe, still not spoiled by modern civilization.
Hike through the trails which for centuries served as main routes to connect the villages in this remote area in the Balkans.
Don’t be scared by the name though, the Accursed Mountains. In contrast, here you will find some of the most welcoming people.
Together with our experienced guides, you will hike through ancient trails.
However, every day will offer magnificent and dramatic views, as well as delicious food and vegetables which actually taste like vegetables.

Welcome to Albania
Your arrival, marks also the start of the tour. After checking in at the hotel, we will visit the city and National History Museum (depending on arrival time). In the evening, we will have dinner in a traditional restaurant.
First hike and first transfer
After a good breakfast, we will hop on the van and head towards the Dajti Mountain. From there, we will start to hike towards the Tujan Peak, at 1500m. After a small rest, we will head back to the base and descent with the cable car to the van. Time to leave for Shkodra. We will have lunch on the way. Upon arrival in Shkoder, you will have free time to discover the city. Dinner will be served in a traditional restaurant.
Entering the Accursed Mountains
We will have a early morning departure towards Valbona. Drive to the ferry and navigate through one of the most scenic ferry rides, the Koman Lake. After the ride, another short transfer to our guesthouse. Lunch in the guesthouse. In the afternoon, we will have a 2 hour walk to discover the village.
The Rosi Pass
Today is the first serious hiking day. We will leave from the guesthouse, headed towards the Rosi Pass, 2000m. This is an approx. 15km hike with a 1000m climb. We will follow the trail up to the Pass. Upon arrival, we will have our picnic lunch, which will be a constant in our hiking days. After lunch we will start descending towards the Guesthouse, where we will have our dinner.
Hop over to Theth
This is yet another challenging hike. We will hike from Valbona to the Village of Theth. The length of the trail is approx. 16Km (depending on the starting point, which may vary based on the guesthouses). We will start the hike from approx. 1000m and will continue our climb to 1800m After a few minutes to take in the view, will start our descent to approx. descent to 750m. Walking duration, approx. 7h. On the way, we will have a couple of options to make some breaks, and enjoy some refreshment drinks. You can decide to have your picnic lunch at one of these stops. Afternoon arrival in Theth Village. Free time to discover the village. Dinner will be served at the guesthouse
The Blue Eye
The hike of today will be easier that the last two days. Today we will hike towards the Village of Nderlysaj, and further to the Blue Eye. This will be a approx 13km walk. On the way, we will visit the Church and the Blood Feud Tower in Theth. Will continue towards the Grunas waterfall and the Grunas Canyon. After we will continue walking until we pass the Nderlysa Village, and will reach the Blue Eye. we will have picnic lunch at the Blue Eye. After lunch, we will walk back to the Nderlysa Village and from there have a 15min. transfer to Theth.
Back to the real world
Today we will leave the mountains and will head back to Tirana. On the way we will stop in Kruja. This is the moment you make a decision. Either you visit the city, the Castle and the Museum, as well as the old Bazar (with traditional shopping options), or we can do a 2 hour and 2.2km hike in the Kruja Mountain. We will start from 610m and will cllimb until 1110m. At the top, the van will be waiting to bring us to the city of Kruja. After any of these activities, we will have traditional lunch. After lunch we continue to Tirana. Free afternoon and meeting for dinner in a traditional restaurant.

This is the time for goodbye, or, starting to plan your next trip to Albania 🙂
Either way, you will have free time until departure
First day, we will sleep in a middle class hotel in the center of Tirana. Shared twin rooms unless otherwise specified.
The second day, we will be spending our night in the center of Shkoder. Shared twin rooms unless otherwise specified.
The third and fourth night is in a guesthouse Valbona Valley. Shared rooms dorm style.
The fifth and sixth night is in a guesthouse Theth Valley. Shared rooms dorm style.
The seventh day we will sleep in a middle class hotel in the center of Tirana. Shared twin rooms unless otherwise specified.
The ninth day is the departure day. No accommodation included.
For the hiking days, hiking boots are compulsory. No hiking sandals are recommended. For the other days, sandals or walking shoes are Ok.
This is a personal choice. If you are used to hike with poles, than it’s a good idea to bring them with you.
Considered the time of the year in which we do these kind of tours, the weather is perfect. However, in the mountains the weather might change instantly, so it’s always a good idea to bring along some water proof jacket.
